NCT00319969
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the objective tumor response rate of amrubicin or standard topotecan therapy when administered as second-line therapy to ED-SCLC patients who have chemotherapy sensitive recurrent or progressive.
NCT00220766
The objective of this study is to determine if the safety and tolerability of Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human), 10% caprylate/chromatography (IGIV-C)purified is similar when infused at two different infusion rates. The primary objective is to compare the incidence and severity of all infusion related adverse events when IGIV-C, 10% is administered at a rate of 0.14 mL/kg/min compared to a rate of 0.08 mL/kg/min after a single daily infusion.
NCT00519142
The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate whether mitiglinide administered in combination with metformin is more effective than metformin alone in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) whose blood sugar is not well controlled taking metformin alone. This is a 24 week study which measures improvement in blood sugar after of treatment.
NCT00951743
This is a 24 week placebo controlled, double-blind, 2-arm study of ADAPTAVIR, Monomeric Dala1-peptide T-amide (mDAPTA) compared to placebo, in HIV infected individuals with suppressed plasma viral loads \< 200 copies/ml by highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) treatment for at least 3 months prior to entry with at least 6 continuous months of HAART treatment preceding entry. 20 treatment and 20 placebo individuals will be enrolled in each arm. The study duration is 24 weeks on placebo or mDAPTA administered intranasally at 0.01 mg two times a day. The main (intent to treat) analysis is planned for the 24 week endpoint. The virological outcomes of interest in the present study are infectious virus recoverable from cellular (PBMC) sources and cellular viral mRNA and DNA copy numbers. Immune outcomes (plasma cytokines) associated with HIV disease, HIV replication, or immune function will be studied.
NCT00484614
Women with newly diagnosed breast cancer anticipating breast-conserving surgery are enrolled into the study and will undergo both high-resolution positron emission mammographic (PEM) imaging and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast(s). The purpose of this study is to determine changes in surgical management resulting from PEM or MRI imaging as compared to conventional imaging and to determine if the changes were appropriate with histopathology as gold standard.
NCT00131859
The researchers' objective is to use diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) to evaluate infants diagnosed with cerebral white matter injury during the neonatal period and identify antenatal risk factors, electronic fetal heart rate monitoring abnormalities, and umbilical arterial gas results that are associated with cerebral white matter injury. The researchers' hypothesis is that this new imaging technique will help us better understand how these devastating injuries occur.
NCT00351325
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of multiple escalating doses of BMS-663513 when given in combination with paclitaxel and carboplatin.
NCT00073853
Autologous Incubated Macrophages (ProCord) is being developed as a therapy for acute, complete spinal cord injury (SCI). The therapy is intended to reverse the loss of motor and sensory function. Following non-CNS tissue injury, macrophages quickly arrive on the scene, where they clean up cell debris, secrete different molecules thus promoting a controlled inflammatory reaction that forms the first phase of the wound healing process. While this process occurs in most tissues, including peripheral nerves, it does not occur in the CNS, where macrophages and other immune cells are relatively rare, and their activities curtailed by a biochemical mechanism known as "immune privilege." In animal studies, it appears that incubated macrophages circumvent the immune privilege, thus supporting the regrowth of axons through the injury site and enabling the recovery of neurological function. The concept derives from the pioneering research of Prof. Michal Schwartz at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
NCT00408421
The primary purpose of this study is to determine if duloxetine reduces pain severity in patients with osteoarthritis knee pain.
NCT00021528
STAR\*D focuses on non-psychotic major depressive disorder in adults who are seen in outpatient settings. The primary purpose of this research study is to determine which treatments work best if the first treatment with medication does not produce an acceptable response. Participants will first receive citalopram, an SSRI medication; if symptoms remain after 8-12 weeks of treatment, up to four other levels of treatment will be offered, including cognitive therapy and other medications. There are no placebo treatments. Some patients may require a combination of two or more treatments to obtain full benefit. Participation could last from 15 to 27 months and involve up to 30 clinic visits. Participants will be interviewed by telephone throughout the study about their symptoms, daily functioning, treatment side effects, use of the health care system, and satisfaction with treatment. There will be a one-year follow up for participants once their depression has been successfully treated
NCT00453518
This is a multicenter, prospective study designed to demonstrate the performance and safety of the FiberNet Embolic Protection System when used as an adjunctive device during saphenous vein graft (SVG) intervention.
NCT00964132
The purpose of this study is to determine whether NRX 194204 is effective in the treatment of advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
NCT00093171
The primary objective of this clinical research study is to assess the safety and efficacy of rFIX for a minimum of 6 months in previously treated patients (PTPs) with hemophilia B (FIX:C ≤2%) during standard-of-care treatment (on-demand, prophylaxis, and through major and minor surgical procedures).
NCT00433290
NCT00690807
PH-10 is a formulation of rose bengal disodium (RB) for topical administration to the skin. PH-10 is capable of undergoing photochemical reactions when activated by ambient light. This phase 2 study will assess whether topical PH-10 applied once daily to mild, moderate or severe areas of atopic dermatitis (including atopic eczema) may ameliorate inflammation of the skin when activated by ambient light.
NCT00154180
The study will examine the effects of estrogen and progesterone on the development of atherosclerosis in menopausal women when hormone treatment is initiated within 3 years of the menopausal transition.
