NCT01585961
This is a prospective, interventional, observational, unblinded, single-arm, multicenter registry of younger and older subjects with drug refractory, recurrent, symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
NCT00420212
To determine if treatment with BG00012 can decrease the number of MS relapses during a certain time period. To determine if, over time, BG00012 treatment can decrease the number of certain types of brain lesions commonly seen in MS patients and slow down the time it takes for the disease to get worse. The purpose of this study is also to determine the safety of BG00012 and how well it is tolerated. Another goal is to see what effect BG00012 may have on tests and evaluations used to assess MS.
NCT01025037
The purpose of this study is to evaluate patient shoulder functional outcomes following rotator cuff repairs reinforced with a surgical mesh.
NCT01557036
The primary objective of this study is to further expand the body of clinical knowledge in patients undergoing Pipeline Embolization Device (Pipeline or PED) placement for intracranial aneurysms (IAs or ICAs) according to Pipeline's labeled indication.
NCT01219010
The purpose of this study is to determine if siltuximab has an effect on the heart function measured by ECG recordings and more specifically to determine if siltuximab has an effect on the QT interval in patients with Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS), Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (SMM) or Indolent Multiple Myeloma (IMM). The study will also look to see if siltuximab may be useful in treating patients with MGUS, SMM or IMM.
NCT01181323
The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the safety of 2 licensed flu vaccines, nasal spray and flu vaccine shot, in mothers and their infants, when given to women who are breastfeeding and to compare the immune response (body's defense against foreign substances) of breastfeeding mothers, who receive intranasal flu vaccine, with breastfeeding mothers receiving the flu vaccine shot. Healthy women (240 volunteers, 28-120 days post delivery) who plan to breastfeed through 28 days post vaccination and who have not received influenza vaccine for the influenza season for which they are being enrolled, will be assigned by chance to 1 of the 2 vaccines in the following manner: flu vaccine nasal spray and a placebo (inactive substance) shot or a flu vaccine shot and a placebo nasal spray. Study procedures include: nasal swabs, blood samples, and completion of memory aids. Participants will be involved in this United States based study for about 6 months.
NCT00567853
The purpose of this study is to collect data on the effectiveness and clinical outcomes of the MEMO 3D Annuloplasty ring as used for mitral valve repair.
NCT01016067
Evaluate the INFUSE/MASTERGRAFT™ Delayed Healing Device as an alternative/replacement to autograft in the treatment of tibial delayed healing.
NCT00451451
To determine if treatment with BG00012 can decrease the number of MS relapses during a certain time period. Other goals of the study are to determine if, over time, BG00012 treatment can decrease the number of certain types of brain lesions commonly seen in MS patients and slow down the time it takes for MS to get worse. Other objectives of the study are to determine the safety and tolerability of BG00012, as well as the effect it may have on tests and evaluations used to assess MS. Additionally, glatiramer acetate is being used to compare its benefits and risks with placebo and BG00012.
NCT01835379
Many people with diabetes will develop a non-healing diabetic foot ulcer. Many ways are available to try to get a diabetic foot ulcer to heal, including application of Oasis Ultra. The hypothesis to be tested is that application of Oasis Ultra will cause more diabetic foot ulcers to heal than wounds treated with regular medical care. Subjects will have their diabetic foot wounds treated for up to 12 weeks with Oasis Ultra or regular medical care .
NCT01270282
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the therapeutic benefit and safety of intratympanic AM-101 injections in comparison to placebo in the treatment of persistent acute inner ear tinnitus.
NCT00151034
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with trastuzumab (Herceptin) along with the three other chemotherapy drugs, paclitaxel, carboplatin and gemcitabine, in patients who have advanced urothelial cancer. This clinical trial will also collect information (alternative therapy, response rates, overall survival) from enrolled patients with HER2 negative tumors who are ineligible to receive study treatment.
NCT00332020
The purpose of this study is to assess if 10 mg BAY 59-7939, taken once daily as a tablet, is safe and can help prevent blood clots forming after a hip replacement operation.
NCT01731730
The objectives of this proof of concept study are to evaluate the safety and preventive analgesic efficacy of a single preoperative intrathecal administration of AYX1 Injection in patients undergoing unilateral total knee arthroplasty.
NCT01831037
This study aims to demonstrate that patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) and B (CHB) experiencing regression of liver cirrhosis after effective antiviral therapy have decreased risk for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Primary aim is to determine the incidence of HCC in patients with cirrhosis secondary to CHC and CHB, after treatment is provided, and to identify the magnitude of the decreased risk for HCC in patients experiencing regression of fibrosis. As a secondary aim, environmental risk factors for HCC development will be sought, in order to determine a subset of patients in whom it will be safe to stop surveillance.
NCT01254279
The purpose of this study is to allow patients similar to that evaluated in the TROPIC trial (NCT00417079), and Investigators access to cabazitaxel for the management of metastatic Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer (mHRPC) in those patients who have progressed during or after docetaxel and to document the overall safety of cabazitaxel in these patients. Please note that in each country, patient recruitment will end when cabazitaxel becomes commercially available.
NCT00128219
The group B streptococcus (GBS) vaccine study is being done to see if a single vaccination with a GBS type III vaccine can stop women from getting GBS type III bacteria in the vagina. Approximately 600 women, ages 18-40, will be enrolled from the clinical sites participating in this study. Participants will be non-pregnant, sexually active (sex with a male at least once in the last 4 months), and GBS negative in the vagina or rectum at the screening visit. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive the experimental GBS type III vaccine or a licensed vaccine containing Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids (Td). Participants will be followed at one month, 2 months and every other month thereafter following vaccination (for vaginal and rectal swab collection and a blood draw) for 1½ years or a total of 10 post vaccination visits.

Primary Objective: \- To demonstrate the superiority of glimepiride and metformin free combination in comparison to glimepiride or metformin alone in terms of Hb1Ac reduction during a 24-week treatment period in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Secondary Objectives: \- To assess the effects of the free combination of glimepiride and metformin in comparison to glimepiride or metformin alone on: * Percentage of patients reaching HbA1c \< 7% * Percentage of patients reaching HbA1c \< 6.5% * Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) * Safety and tolerability
NCT00879892
The main purpose of this study is to explore whether xenon is neuroprotective in humans. In addition, the purpose is to explore the underlying mechanisms for the possible synergistic neuroprotective interaction of xenon and hypothermia in patients suffering cerebral ischemia post cardiac arrest, by undertaking brain imaging to evaluate their effects on cerebral hypoxia, neuronal loss and mitochondrial dysfunction. In addition, the investigators aim to correlate these findings with neurological outcome to determine surrogate markers of favourable clinical outcome at six months.
