NCT05524233
Cognitive impairment refers to when an individual struggles to learn, concentrate, remember, or make decisions. This can be due to underlying neurological diseases (i.e. Alzheimer's disease, dementia, etc.), caused by viral illness (i.e. brain fog experienced by COVID-19 survivors) or physical trauma (i.e. concussion). Recent reports indicate that two out of three Americans experience some amount of cognitive impairment in their lifetime. There are a number of therapies that have been used to help address this condition. One of these is transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), which delivers sustained direct current to to the head area via electrodes. A number of studies have indicated that this form of therapy is safe and efficacious at inducing neuroplasticity and exciting neuronal activity. These factors can help improve aspects of cognitive functioning such as working memory, learning, and task performance. The purpose of this pilot study is to examine the acceptability and proof of concept effectiveness of a wireless, transcranial direct current stimulation for people with cognitive impairments.
NCT06470763

NCT01958021
The primary purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of ribociclib, as measured by progression free survival (PFS), in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HER2-) advanced breast cancer who received no prior treatment for advanced disease.
NCT01536886
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether LEO 90100 and calcipotriol plus betamethasone are effective in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris.
NCT04950712
The aim of this study is to assess performance of using healthcare tools to understand genital Herpes Simplex Virus-2 (HSV-2) in patients ≥ 18 years of age in the United States and Europe. More specifically, the study aims to evaluate patient-reported outcome and quality-of-life endpoints as well as the performance study procedures in a decentralised setting. Ultimately, this study will allow generating additional real-world evidence (RWE) on patterns of recurrences and other key parameters.
NCT03868579
This trial studies how well rapid on site evaluation of pleural touch preparations works in diagnosing cancerous fluid in between the linings of the lungs (malignant pleural effusion) in patients undergoing a pleuroscopy. A type of laboratory testing called rapid on site evaluation of pleural touch preparations that uses pleural biopsy tissue samples collected during an already-scheduled pleuroscopy may be able to diagnose malignant pleural effusion.
NCT00353496
The study will compare the difference between lanreotide Autogel and placebo on progression free survival in patients who have an endocrine tumour in the pancreas or intestines.
NCT03988634
The effect of sacubitril/valsartan vs. valsartan on changes in NT-proBNP, safety, and tolerability in HFpEF patients with a WHF event (HFpEF decompensation) who had been stabilized and initiated at the time of or within 30 days post-decompensation.
NCT04618315
Satisfaction and benefit from hearing aids fit using two patient self fit methods will be compared against those fit using audiology-based best practices. Individuals between the ages of 50 and 79 years of age will be randomly assigned to one of three fitting methods. Benefit and satisfaction will be evaluated six weeks and six months after the initial fitting.
NCT05305235
The Randomized Control Trial for Innovating Stress-related eHealth (RISE) Study tests the hypotheses that a highly promising digital therapeutic (RISE Guide) targeting anxiety sensitivity (AS) will be acceptable to women sexual assault survivors; reduce survivors' anxiety sensitivity, and, in turn, posttraumatic stress. If successful, RISE Guide could be provided at no cost to all women who present to US emergency departments for emergency care after sexual assault.
NCT04676022
To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) with multiple modalities compared to Conventional Medical Management (CMM) in patients with chronic low back and/or leg pain who have not undergone spinal surgery when using the Boston Scientific WaveWriter SCS Systems.
NCT04592549
This is a phase 1, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose escalation study to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity of ADM03820 administered as IM injections in healthy adults for the prevention of COVID-19.
NCT01922050
Part 1: To identify Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) levels of two formulations of LEO 43204 after once daily treatment for two consecutive days Part 2: To evaluate efficacy of two formulations of LEO 43204 in two doses after once daily treatment for two consecutive days compared to vehicle formulations
NCT04521478
This study is open to adults with depression (major depressive disorder) for whom standard treatment with antidepressants alone does not work sufficiently. The purpose of the trial is to find out whether a medicine called BI 1358894 helps to improve symptoms of depression. Four different doses of BI 1358894 are tested in the study. Participants continue their standard antidepressant therapy throughout the study. Participants are put into 6 groups by chance. Participants in 4 of the 6 groups take different doses of BI 1358894, and placebo. Participants in the fifth group take quetiapine, a medicine already used to treat depression, and placebo. Participants in the sixth group take placebo only. Participants take BI 1358894, quetiapine, or placebo as tablets. Placebo tablets look like BI 1358894 or quetiapine tablets but do not contain any medicine. Each participant takes tablets twice a day. Participants are in the study for about 3 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 8 times and get about 2 phone calls. At the visits, doctors ask participants about their symptoms. The results between the BI 1358894 groups, the quetiapine group, and the placebo group are then compared. The doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.
NCT01160211

NCT03533257
The study is a 24-week, randomized, double-blind, multi-site, placebo-controlled study in participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD).
NCT04564209
HIV disproportionately affects Latinos who have more infections, faster disease progression, more HIV-related deaths, and slower diagnosis and treatment than their white/majority counterparts. This is a concern across the United States (US) and in developing countries, such as the Dominican Republic (DR). The HIV-related health disparities experienced by Latinos are made worse when those living with HIV have low health literacy and difficulty understanding the information they need to manage their health. The PI developed a set of images to assist clinicians in providing information to Latino people living with HIV (PLWH). These images have been put into a mobile health app so clinicians can easily access them during clinic visits. The PI has tested her with PLWH in the DR and in New York City. So, the next steps in this research are to ensure the images are relevant and useful to Latinos across the United States (US) and to further assess if, and to what extent, the images can improve health outcomes among PLWH in the US and in the DR. We will therefore, adapt images to Latinos of Mexican origin/descent and then test them to determine if these images help clinicians provide information to patients by conducting a study at clinical sites in the US and in the DR.
