NCT00421031
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of 4 doses of desvenlafaxine-233 sustained release (DVS-233 SR) as compared to placebo for the treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause, as well as its influence on sleep parameters and other health outcomes indicators.
NCT00129948
This is a phase 2, single-arm, open-label, multi-center study to establish the safety and efficacy of Troxatyl™ (troxacitabine) administered as a continuous infusion for 5 days to subjects with AML.
NCT00058656
Patients will have immune cells collected and then expanded outside of the body. Patients will receive an infusion of a large number of expanded immune cells. There will be three dose levels studied. The goal of the study will be to determine the safety as well as potential efficacy of this treatment.
NCT00417872
The primary objective is to demonstrate non-inferiority of nitazoxanide administered 500 mg b.i.d compared to metronidazole administered 250 mg q.i.d. in resolving symptoms of Clotridium difficile colitis after seven days of treatment. Secondary objectives are to provide information on the times from first dose to last unformed stool and resolution of symptoms of colitis, the sustained response rates for the different tratment groups and the effect of treatment on Clostridium difficile toxin enzyme immunoassay/culture results during hospitalization.
NCT00048425
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a 24-hour infusion of levosimendan compared with placebo in the treatment of decompensated chronic heart failure.
NCT00061464
The purposes of this study are to determine: 1. The safety of pemetrexed plus Gemcitabine and any side effects that might be associated with the combination of these two drugs. 2. Whether pemetrexed plus Gemcitabine can help patients with non-small cell lung cancer live longer. 3. Whether pemetrexed plus Gemcitabine can make the tumor smaller or disappear, and for how long. 4. To see if patients feel better while taking pemetrexed plus Gemcitabine.
NCT00179686
Subjects who qualify will receive single agent lenalidomide once daily on days 1-21 of 28 day cycles. Subjects will continue until disease progression is documented.
NCT00050830
The purpose of study to determine the activity of CI 1033 against tumors in patients with advanced or metastatic NSCLC who have failed prior platinum-based combination chemotherapy. Another objective is to determine the safety of CI 1033.
NCT00141414
To evaluate the long-term safety of pregabalin in refractory partial epilepsy.
NCT00266682
People who have a slow heart beat, or whose heart does not beat on its own, may be in need of an electronic device called a pacemaker. A pacemaker is implanted surgically just under the skin in the upper chest area. This device helps the heart beat at a regular rhythm by sending electrical signals (pacing) directly to the heart tissue through flexible wires called leads. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the SelectSecure (Model 3830) lead is safe and effective for both sensing the heart's natural rhythm and pacing the heart when it does not beat on its own. This lead will be studied in both the right atrium and right ventricle. A previously market approved Medtronic lead model will serve as a comparison to prove the safety and effectiveness of the SelectSecure Model.
NCT00228592
The purpose of this study is to compare the use of HepeX-B versus HBIg, two anti-viral drugs, in patients who have received liver transplants due to liver failure caused by Hepatitis B infection. Patients will be evaluated over a 6 month to 1.5 year period to evaluate whether or not the drugs prevent the Hepatitis B virus from infecting the new liver.
NCT00191750
The purposes of this study are to determine 1) the safety of pemetrexed and any side effects that might be associated with it 2) whether pemetrexed can help patients with small cell lung cancer live longer 3) whether pemetrexed can make tumors smaller or disappear and for how long and 4) to see if patients feel better while taking pemetrexed
NCT00062907
The purpose of this trial is to examine the safety and immunogenicity of a therapeutic vaccine regimen with recombinant DNA and adenovirus expressing L523S protein in patients with early stage non-small cell lung cancer. The vaccine regimen will consist of two fixed doses of recombinant DNA (pVAX/L523S) followed by two doses of recombinant adenovirus (Ad/L523S). The trial will evaluate the dose escalation of Ad/L523S through three cohorts of patients.
NCT00299897
This is a 28-day, multi-center, placebo-controlled study designed to look at the dose response, efficacy, and safety of SP01A, given as a pill to be swallowed, in the treatment of HIV-infected subjects. Samaritan has discovered that SP01A affects cholesterol binding, which is directly implicated in the pathogenesis of HIV. It has also been established that drugs of this nature exert an anti-HIV effect in-vitro. These data suggest that SP01A has the potential to reduce HIV virus replication. One measurement of an HIV infected person's risk of progressing to AIDS is the number of viral particles of HIV in their blood (called a "viral load"). This study is designed to see if SP01A will lower the amount of HIV in an infected individual's blood. Patients will be assigned by chance to 1 of 4 groups. Neither the patient nor the study doctor or nurse will know which dose of the study drug the patient is taking or if he/she is receiving the placebo (a capsule that looks like the study drug but does not contain any active ingredient). Study drug administration will continue for 28 days. At the end of the 28-day study, the patient will be offered testing of his/her virus for resistance to approved drugs (genotype).
NCT00278967
To compare the safety and efficacy of 2 different bowel cleansing preparations prior to colonoscopy in adult subjects.
NCT00048464
Patients will have immune cells collected and then expanded outside of the body. Patients will undergo standard treatment with high dose chemotherapy followed by peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. Three days following the transplant, patients will receive an infusion of a large number of expanded immune cells. The goal of the study will be to determine the safety as well as potential efficacy of this treatment.
NCT00429533
The purpose of this 12-month study was to determine the efficacy of dapsone as a glucocorticoid-sparing agent in maintenance phase pemphigus vulgaris.
NCT00090727
The purposes of this study are to determine: * the largest dose of AQ4N that can be safely given once a week for three weeks out of a 4 week cycle * the side effects of AQ4N when given on the above schedule * how much AQ4N is in the blood and urine at specific times after administration and how the body get rids of AQ4N * if AQ4N helps treat cancer
NCT00190827
The study evaluates the effectiveness of duloxetine in reducing urinary incontinence occurrences in women due to physical stress(e.g. stomach pressure on bladder). Incontinence is the inability to control bladder function with leakage of urine.
NCT00191399
The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of olanzapine and fluoxetine combined on all the visits as compared with the baseline visit in patients with bipolar disorder, measured by the total score of the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS).
