NCT02009982
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of cardioneuroablation for the treatment of neurocardiogenic syncope (NCS), also known as "vaso-vagal" syncope. Syncope is a general term for passing out spells and neurocardiogenic syncope is a specific form of passing out spells caused by sudden drops in heart rate or blood pressure. Although the specific mechanisms of NCS are not well understood, it is believed that some people are prone to developing passing out spells in specific situations such as standing up for a long period of time, pain or nausea. In these situations, the body reacts with a paradoxical reflex which leads to a drop in blood pressure and heart rate and causes passing out. Certain types of medications are used to treat NCS including beta-blockers, midodrine and florinef, among others. However, none of these medications are particularly effective at preventing passing out spells and many people continue to have episodes despite trying different medications. Cardioneuroablation is a new form of treatment for NCS. The term ablation means using a wire to make small electrical burns in the heart. Ablation has been used for many years to treat other electrical disturbances in the heart but the use of ablation to treat NCS is a new application. The goal of cardioneuroablation is to identify areas within the heart which are believed to initiate the reflex which triggers the drop in heart rate and blood pressure that leads to passing out. In preliminary studies, it has been suggested that cardioneuroablation may be significantly more effective than medications at preventing passing out spells for people with NCS. Hypothesis: Cardioneuroablation of vagal inputs in the left atrium may serve as an effective treatment modality for the prevention of NCS by blunting the initial trigger of the cascade that leads to symptoms and syncope.
NCT02246582
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the performance of the Enlite 3 Sensor over 168 hours (7 days) when inserted in the abdomen and used with the Guardian Mobile App and 640G Pump in subjects aged 14-75 years with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
NCT01165580
This open label study will assess the pharmacokinetics and the safety and tolerability of Valcyte (valganciclovir) powder for oral solution in neonatal and infant heart transplant patients \< 4 months of age.
NCT00048152
This study will compare kidney function in kidney transplant patients following treatment with various combinations of Zenapax, CellCept, corticosteroids, and Neoral (Cyclosporine). The anticipated time on study treatment is 6-12 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
NCT00903175
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of first-line RAD001 followed by second-line sunitinib versus the opposite sequence: first-line sunitinib followed by second-line RAD001 for the treatment of patients with MRCC.
NCT00685373
This will provided long-term safety and efficacy data for ACZ885 (a fully human anti-interleukin-1β \[anti-IL-1β\] monoclonal antibody) given as an injection subcutaneously in patients who participated in the CACZ885A2102 (NCT00487708), CACZ885D2201 (NCT00685373) or CACZ885D2304(NCT00465985) studies or newly identified patients with the following cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes: Familial Cold Autoinflammatory Syndrome, Muckle-Wells Syndrome or Neonatal Onset Multisystem Inflammatory Disease. The duration of this study was 6 months with a maximum duration of 2 years
NCT01002573
The primary objective of the study is to determine the superiority of a single dose of intravenous ibuprofen compared to acetaminophen for the treatment of fever during the first two hours of treatment.
NCT00120848
Human Papilloma virus (HPV) are viruses that cause a common infection of the skin and genitals in men and women. Several types of HPV infection are transmitted by sexual activity and, in women, can infect the cervix (part of the uterus or womb). This infection often goes away by itself, but if it does not go away (this is called persistent infection), it can lead in women over a long period of time to cancer of the cervix. If a woman is not infected by HPV, it is very unlikely that she will get cervical cancer. This is an observer blind follow up study of the study HPV-001, which evaluated the ability of the HPV vaccine to prevent HPV infection. The current study invites all of the 1113 subjects in the HPV-001 study that received all three doses of vaccine/placebo to be enrolled and followed-up for several additional years to see if the HPV vaccine prevents HPV-16 and HPV-18 infections and to evaluate the safety of the vaccine. Subjects will remain in the same study group as in the primary study. No vaccine or placebo will be administered in this study. The Protocol Posting has been updated in order to comply with the FDA Amendment Act, Sep 2007.
NCT00303108
The purpose of this study is to determine the ORR associated with Doxil in combination with carboplatin in HER2- (negative) MBC (and with Herceptin in HER2+ MBC).
NCT00403481
This study will examine the ability of olmesartan medoxomil to lower the blood pressure of patients with Type II diabetes and high blood pressure. The medication being tested has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of high blood pressure.
NCT01577173
This phase II, open-label, randomized study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MEHD7945A versus cetuximab in patients with recurrent/metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck who have progressed during or following platinum-based chemotherapy. Patients will be randomized to receive either MEHD7945A 1100 mg intravenously (iv) every 2 weeks or cetuximab 400 mg/m2 iv loading dose followed by 250 mg/m2 iv weekly. Patients treated with cetuximab (Arm B) may cross-over to MEHD7945A (Arm A) upon central confirmation of progressive disease and upon meeting eligibility criteria. Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or intolerable toxicity occurs.
NCT01913158
The primary objective of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of G\&W Laboratories' Anucort HC TM (Hydrocortisone Acetate) 25mg Rectal Suppositories in subjects with internal hemorrhoidal symptoms.
NCT01332253
The hypothesis is that a single, pre-operative dose of intravenous ibuprofen will significantly reduce post-operative fentanyl use compared to placebo.
NCT00460941
This 4 arm study will evaluate the tolerability, efficacy and pharmacodynamics of different doses of a GLP-1 analogue in patients with type 2 diabetes who are treated with a stable dose of metformin. Patients will be randomized to receive either subcutaneous placebo, or subcutaneous GLP-1 analogue (at a dose of 20mg, or a starting dose of 20mg escalating to either 30mg or 40mg), weekly. All patients will continue on their existing metformin treatment regimen throughout the study. The anticipated time on study treatment is \<3 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT00254163
The purpose of this research study is to find out what effects (good and bad) the combination of Nipent+Cytoxan+Rituxan has on CLL cancer compared to Fludara+Cytoxan+Rituxan. While all of these drugs are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of other cancers, these combinations are experimental for the treatment of CLL.
NCT01496755

NCT00559533
This study will determine the maximum tolerated dose and the optimal associated 4 weekly dosing schedule of RO5045337, administered as monotherapy in patients with advanced solid tumors. A first cohort of patients will receive the starting dose of 20mg/m2/day, once daily for 10 days in each 28 day cycle. Subsequent cohorts of patients will receive dose escalations, and possible changes in dosing schedule, based on tolerability and pharmacokinetic knowledge gained from prior treatment cohorts. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or intolerable toxicity.
