NCT00048425
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a 24-hour infusion of levosimendan compared with placebo in the treatment of decompensated chronic heart failure.
NCT00129948
This is a phase 2, single-arm, open-label, multi-center study to establish the safety and efficacy of Troxatyl™ (troxacitabine) administered as a continuous infusion for 5 days to subjects with AML.
NCT00266682
People who have a slow heart beat, or whose heart does not beat on its own, may be in need of an electronic device called a pacemaker. A pacemaker is implanted surgically just under the skin in the upper chest area. This device helps the heart beat at a regular rhythm by sending electrical signals (pacing) directly to the heart tissue through flexible wires called leads. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the SelectSecure (Model 3830) lead is safe and effective for both sensing the heart's natural rhythm and pacing the heart when it does not beat on its own. This lead will be studied in both the right atrium and right ventricle. A previously market approved Medtronic lead model will serve as a comparison to prove the safety and effectiveness of the SelectSecure Model.
NCT00066898
To assess the safety and efficacy of AGI-1067, as compared to placebo, in the treatment of vascular inflammation and atherosclerosis by assessing the reduction in cardiovascular events.
NCT00234611
Currently, the majority of heart failure patients who qualify for and receive a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device feel better than before their implant. However, there are some patients who do not improve after the implant. Michigan Heart is sponsoring a research study called LOCATE-Pilot to help understand whether the information from an echocardiogram, performed before implanting the CRT device, improves patients' responses to CRT. This is being done by evaluating your heart's function with an echocardiogram, to measure your heart's response during therapy. The study hypothesis is that response to CRT may be optimized by guiding left ventricular lead placement to the maximally delayed, viable basal segment of the left ventricle.
NCT00050830
The purpose of study to determine the activity of CI 1033 against tumors in patients with advanced or metastatic NSCLC who have failed prior platinum-based combination chemotherapy. Another objective is to determine the safety of CI 1033.
NCT00383305
This is a research study of head cooling. Its goal is to determine whether cooling babies' heads can reduce or prevent brain damage that may have resulted from temporarily reduced oxygen supply to the brain. In this study, half of the babies (selected at random) will have a special cooling cap with circulating water placed on their head for 72 hours to lower the temperature of their brain. The rest of the baby's body will be maintained at a defined temperature by a standard overhead radiant heater. The study protocol includes the taking and analysis of blood samples, performance of brain wave tests, imaging of the brain by ultrasound, and other tests as clinically indicated. Neurodevelopmental outcome will also be assessed at 18 months of age.
NCT00381056
A cluster-randomized controlled trial was conducted at 7 intervention and 8 control hospitals to evaluate the effect of teamwork training on the occurrence of adverse outcomes and processes of care in labor and delivery.
NCT00176761
This study is being conducted to determine the efficacy, side effects, and toxicity of an investigational vaccine that consists of tumor-pulsed dendritic cells administered with an immune stimulating drug called interleukin-2 (IL-2). Dendritic cells are immune cells that are obtained from a subject's blood and are important in the body's immune response to foreign substances. This study will examine the response of a subject's immune system after receiving several vaccinations containing their own dendritic cells which have been exposed to dead fragments of their cancer cells in the laboratory. This may result in sensitizing a subject's dendritic cells to their cancer cells so that their dendritic cells will react with other cells of the immune system and attack the cancer. It has been shown in the laboratory that dendritic cells exposed to cancer cell fragments can provide lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) with signals they require in order to become fully activated and acquire the ability to kill cancer cells.
NCT00217139
The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of celgosivir plus peginterferon alfa-2b, with or without ribavirin, for 12 weeks in patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 infection.
NCT00191880
Open-label trial of Atomoxetine to Evaluate Academic Outcome in Children Ages 8-11 years with Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
NCT00100243
This is a Phase 2, open-label study in subjects with androgen-independent prostate cancer who have progressed following treatment with an LHRH agonist. Up to 22 subjects will be enrolled. Enrollment will be monitored to ensure that not all subjects are enrolled based on rising prostate specific antigen (PSA) criterion only. Subjects will be treated with abarelix (Plenaxis) 100 mg intramuscularly (IM) every 2 weeks for 12 weeks (total dose of 600 mg).
NCT00074867
The purpose of this study is to determine whether CP-547,632, an oral VEGFR-2 tyrosine kinase inhibitor is effective in the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal serous cancer, or fallopian tube cancer for patients who have failed first line platinum-based therapy and have a persistent rising CA-125.
NCT00080197
The purpose of this study is to determine if E7070 is an efficacious, safe, and tolerable treatment for patients with metastatic breast cancer who have failed, or could not tolerate, prior treatments with an anthracycline, a taxane, and capecitabine.
NCT00069849
The purpose of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of 2 mg, 4 mg, and 20 mg of ABT-089 BID to placebo in adults with Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00278967
To compare the safety and efficacy of 2 different bowel cleansing preparations prior to colonoscopy in adult subjects.
NCT00038636
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of a high dose of ABT-378/ritonavir
NCT00306280
This purpose of this study is to determine whether phototherapy can be used to safely and effectively treat H pylori.

NCT00062907
The purpose of this trial is to examine the safety and immunogenicity of a therapeutic vaccine regimen with recombinant DNA and adenovirus expressing L523S protein in patients with early stage non-small cell lung cancer. The vaccine regimen will consist of two fixed doses of recombinant DNA (pVAX/L523S) followed by two doses of recombinant adenovirus (Ad/L523S). The trial will evaluate the dose escalation of Ad/L523S through three cohorts of patients.
