It also aims to generate data in support of the impact of rilonacept on clinical outcomes in a real-world population.
NCT06829537
This is a non-interventional study to assess the prevalence of endogenous hypercortisolism (eHC) in patients with resistant hypertension (rHTN) and will enroll approximately 1000 patients at approximately 45 sites in the United States (US). Each patient will have an initial visit for screening. After eligibility is confirmed, a limited exam will be performed and demographic and medical history will be collected. Non-fasting labs and a urine collection will also be done. A second visit will be a fasting blood draw at 8 AM after taking 1 mg of dexamethasone the night before at 11 PM. Cortisol level and study labs will also be collected. After the lab results are obtained, a third visit will be scheduled only for patients with eHC and will include a non-fasting blood draw at 8 AM and scheduling of a non-contrast CT scan.
NCT06073223
The study will include 50 patients newly diagnosed with low-risk thyroid cancer ranging from 18-80 years of age. After scheduling their surgeon visit, the investigators will enroll patients and measure their intended treatment choice, baseline awareness of the three treatment options, expected outcomes, self-efficacy, and activation. The participants will then be randomized 1:1 and deliver the CQUPLE intervention to the intervention group. The control group will receive usual care, which involves providing no disease or treatment specific information outside the surgeon visit. The study team will repeat all measures prior to the surgical consult and after the surgical consult. The study team will record the patients' actual treatment choice after the consult.
NCT04925089
* Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is one of the more common soft tissue sarcomas (STS). * Patients presenting with large, high-grade, localized LMS are at significant risk of developing metastasis following curative surgery. * Clinical trials of neoadjuvant or adjuvant anthracycline and ifosfamide have suggested that patients with localized STS who are at high-risk of metastasis may benefit from chemotherapy, but the magnitude of benefit in unselected patient population is relatively small. * Currently, patient age, and tumor size and grade are used to assess risk of metastases and survival * Studies evaluating tumor response by imaging and histopathology have not established correlation between tumor characteristics as biomarkers for risk of metastasis or sarcoma recurrence. * Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is present in blood of patients with advanced/metastatic LMS and may serve as biomarker of tumor response to chemotherapy. Blood samples will be collected prior to, during and after chemotherapy and analyzed for ctDNA and for mutations in genes that are associated with increased risk of developing sarcoma. Tumor tissue will be collected and analyzed for changes in genes. Digital images of the sarcoma from CT or MRI scans obtained during treatment will be obtained for advanced radiomic analysis. Patients will be followed for 2 years after study entry for signs of sarcoma recurrence. * A biomarker of tumor response and patient survival benefit from chemotherapy early in the course of chemotherapy would be of significant impact in treatment planning.
NCT07413458
This pilot randomized clinical trial will evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness of immersive Virtual Reality (VR) nature intervention among adults with at least moderate depression symptoms enrolled in an intensive outpatient Program (IOP) for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). The study hypotheses: * VR-based nature immersion will be feasible, acceptable, and positively evaluated by participants * Participants receiving the VR intervention will report greater reductions in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress compared to those receiving standard care alone
NCT03489629
To evaluate the micro-biologic efficacy and safety of a streamlined treatment for early onset methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in patients with cystic fibrosis.
NCT05345171
The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of DTX301 on the improvement of ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) function by maintaining safe plasma ammonia levels.
NCT05521698
This phase I trial evaluates the effects of apalutamide, compared to placebo, on epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) protein expression in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. Apalutamide is in a class of medications called androgen receptor inhibitors. It works by blocking the effects of androgen (a male reproductive hormone) to stop the growth and spread of tumor cells. Previous studies have suggested that expression of a protein called EGFR on tumor cells is related to bladder cancer disease progression. This trial may help doctors evaluate if apalutamide has any effect on EGFR expression in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
NCT05653232
This study is being done to find out the best time to start medication for Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in HCV-negative recipients of HCV-positive (HCV D+/R-) kidney transplants. Participants will be randomized into one of two groups: Arm 1 - Prophylaxis: This group will start the HCV medication before transplant and will take a shorter course of HCV medication for 2 weeks. Arm 2 - Transmit and Treat: This group will start the HCV medication after transplant and will take the full course (12 weeks) of HCV medication.
NCT06004245
This is a first-in-human, Phase I, open-label, multicenter, dose-escalation and dose expansion study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity of VVD-133214 monotherapy, and in combination with pembrolizumab, in participants with microsatellite instability (MSI) and/or deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) advanced solid tumors. VVD-133214 is an oral drug that acts on a protein called Werner (WRN), which may promote the growth of cancers that are MSI and/or dMMR. By acting on WRN, VVD-133214 may be able to block the growth of these types of cancer.
NCT04928677
The purpose of this study to find out whether codrituzumab is a safe treatment that causes few or mild side effects in children and young adults who have solid tumors that express the protein GPC3. The researchers also want to study the way codrituzumab is absorbed, distributed, and cleared from the body.
NCT06897202
This study is designed to test how well once-weekly MET097 (an ultra-long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist) works to treat adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) compared to placebo. MET097 or placebo will be administered to individuals via subcutaneous injection once weekly for 28 weeks. If an individual is randomly assigned to MET097 they will receive one of four different dose regimens.
NCT04489719
This study investigates how well radium-223 works in treating patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer than has spread to the bones (bone metastases). Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer death. Furthermore, many men with notably advanced disease have been found to have abnormalities in DNA repair. The purpose of this research is to study the role of a DNA repair pathway in prostate cancer, specifically in response to administration of radium-223, an FDA-approved drug known to cause DNA damage to cancerous cells. Understanding how defects in the DNA repair pathway affects radium-223 treatment of prostate, may help doctors help plan effective treatment in future patients.
NCT04883905

NCT06991556
This Phase II study aims to evaluate efficacy and safety of the combination of JSB462 (also known as luxdegalutamide) at 100 mg and 300 mg once a day (QD) doses + abiraterone compared with an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI, abiraterone or enzalutamide) in participants with metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC) and to select the recommended dose of the combination for phase III. Towards that end, the totality of the efficacy, safety, tolerability and PK data from participants randomized in the study will be evaluated
NCT03587740
This research study is studying an investigational drug as a possible treatment for breast cancer that is positive for the protein Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2, also known as HER2-positive breast cancer. The drug involved in this study is: -ado-trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1)
NCT04973163
This study is open to adults with different types of advanced or metastatic cancer (including lung cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and bile duct cancer). This study is for people for whom previous treatment was not successful or no treatment exists. People who have a tumour with a KRAS mutation can participate in the study. A KRAS mutation makes tumours grow faster. BI 1823911 and BI 1701963 are medicines that may turn off KRAS, each in a different way. In this study, BI 1823911 is given to people for the first time. The purpose of this study is to find the highest dose of BI 1823911 that people can tolerate when taken alone and together with BI 1701963. The most suitable dose is used to find out whether BI 1823911 alone and in combination with BI 1701963 can make tumours shrink. Participants can stay in the study as long as they benefit from treatment and can tolerate it. During this time, participants take tablets of BI 1823911 alone or in combination with BI 1701963 once a day. The doctors regularly monitor the size of the tumour. Doctors also regularly record any unwanted effects and check participant's health.
