This 3-arm study will assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of taspoglutide compared with exenatide in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus inadequately controlled with metformin, thiazolidinedione or a combination of both. Patients will be randomized to receive taspoglutide (10mg once weekly or 10mg once weekly for 4 weeks followed by 20mg once weekly) or exenatide (5 micrograms twice daily for 4 weeks followed by 10 micrograms twice daily) in a ratio of 1:1:1 in addition to continued prestudy metformin and thiazolidinedione either alone or in combination. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3+ years, and the target sample size is \>500 individuals.

This 7 arm study will determine the optimal treatment combination, based on efficacy and safety. Patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC), genotype 1, will be randomized to one of 7 treatment groups. Groups 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 will receive triple combination treatment with HCV polymerase inhibitor pro-drug (at doses of 500, 1000 or 1500mg po bid) plus PEGASYS (90 or 180 micrograms sc weekly) plus Copegus (1000 or 1200mg po qd) for 24 weeks, followed by 24 weeks of open label Standard of Care (PEGASYS 180 micrograms sc weekly plus Copegus 1000/1200mg po qd). Group 3 will receive HCV polymerase inhibitor pro-drug 500mg po bid plus PEGASYS 180 micrograms sc weekly plus Copegus 1000/1200mg po qd for 24 weeks; after 24 weeks, those achieving a rapid virological response (RVR) will stop all medication, and non-RVR patients will remain on triple combination for an additional 24 weeks. Group 7 will receive standard of care (SOC) for 48 weeks. There will be a 24 week period of treatment-free follow-up for all treatment groups. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

This study will determine the maximum tolerated dose and the optimal associated 4 weekly dosing schedule of RO5045337, administered as monotherapy in patients with advanced solid tumors. A first cohort of patients will receive the starting dose of 20mg/m2/day, once daily for 10 days in each 28 day cycle. Subsequent cohorts of patients will receive dose escalations, and possible changes in dosing schedule, based on tolerability and pharmacokinetic knowledge gained from prior treatment cohorts. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or intolerable toxicity.

This study will determine the maximum tolerated dose and pharmacokinetic profile of R1507 in patients with metastatic or locally advanced malignant solid tumors, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or Hodgkin's lymphoma. Groups of patients will be sequentially enrolled to receive ascending doses of R1507 either weekly or three-weekly by intravenous infusion. The starting dose of 1mg/kg iv for each dosing regimen will be escalated in subsequent groups of patients after a satisfactory assessment of safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of the previous dose. This 2 arm study will compare the safety and efficacy, with regard to reduction of signs and symptoms, of tocilizumab versus placebo in combination with traditional Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) therapy in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate response to current DMARD therapy. This study will assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of increasing doses of GK Activator (2) in patients with type 2 diabetes whose condition has not been optimally controlled with one previous oral antihyperglycemic agent. After a 2 week washout from their previous antidiabetic therapy, patients will receive GK Activator (2) orally, twice a day for 12 weeks, at increasing doses of 25mg bid to 200mg bid; doses will be titrated to achieve a target fasting glucose level (FPG) of \<100mg/dL. This study will investigate the effect of renal impairment on the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of GK Activator (2) in patients with type 2 diabetes, and will evaluate the effect of renal function on the safety of the drug. Patients will be assigned to treatment groups according to their renal function (normal, moderate renal impairment, or severe renal impairment). After a 1 week washout period from current oral anti-diabetic treatment, all patients will receive a single oral dose of 100mg GK Activator (2), and blood and urine samples will be taken up to 96h post-dose. This study will assess the potential pharmacodynamic and potential pharmacokinetic interaction between GK Activator (2) and glyburide, in type 2 diabetes patients not adequately controlled with glyburide as standard prescribed therapy. Patients will enter the study taking a dose of glyburide (10-20mg po daily) as prescribed prior to study start. GK Activator (2) 100mg bid will be added for 5 days. From days 6-12 patients will receive GK Activator (2) monotherapy, and from day 13 GK Activator (2) will be discontinued and glyburide treatment re-started. This 2 stage study will compare the pharmacokinetics and safety profile of subcutaneous and intravenous rituximab in participants with follicular lymphoma. In the first stage, participants who have achieved at least a partial response after induction treatment with intravenous rituximab will be randomized to one of 3 treatment cohorts, to receive rituximab 375 milligram per square meter (mg/m\^2) intravenously, 375 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously or 625 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously, and pharmacokinetics evaluated on an ongoing basis. Upon selection of the subcutaneous dose (800 mg/m\^2) which results in rituximab trough plasma concentration (C trough) values comparable to those achieved with the intravenous formulation, participants in the second stage of the study will be randomized to receive either the subcutaneous or intravenous formulation to demonstrate comparability of the C trough levels with both routes of administration. Maintenance therapy will continue every 2 or 3 months with the subcutaneous formulation.
