NCT01966419
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ornithine phenylacetate can speed recovery from an acute hepatic encephalopathy episode requiring hospitalization in cirrhotic patients.
NCT04542915
As dental practices reopen their practices during a global pandemic, the risk of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection that dental hygienists face in providing dental care remains unknown. Estimating the occupational risk of COVID-19, and producing evidence on the types of infection control practices and dental practices that may affect COVID-19 risk, is therefore imperative. These findings could be used to describe the prevalence and incidence of COVID-19 among dental hygienists, determine what infection control steps dental hygienists take over time, describe dental hygienists' employment during the COVID-19 pandemic, and estimate whether infection control adherence in dental practice is related to COVID-19 incidence.
NCT03312192
The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical results between two different techniques for ACDF: 1. Stand-alone ACDF, which means the placement of an interbody device (cage) without anterior fixation or plating; 2. ACDF with and interbody cage and anterior plating for fixation. Both of these procedures are commonly performed at Rush with unclear advantage of one procedure over the other. Both have been associated with good to excellent clinical outcomes. The devices used in this study are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
NCT04637477
This is a proof-of-concept study of a virtual version of a lifestyle intervention aimed at reducing cardiometabolic risk in patients with the Metabolic Syndrome (MetS). The aim is to recruit 12 patients at high risk for coronavirus infection based upon a diagnosis of obesity and the MetS, conduct a 12-week virtual version of the in-person intervention, and explore efficacy using clinically significant pre-specified targets for weight, diet, physical activity, stress, and markers of inflammation. In addition, the investigators will explore safety, fidelity, feasibility, and acceptability.
NCT02423330
This clinical trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Strattice-LIFT procedure to treat anal fistulas.
NCT00854828
This is a multicenter study evaluating the effectiveness of nonoperative and operative treatments. The investigators wish to identify important clinical and radiographic determinants of outcomes in the management of adults with symptomatic lumbar scoliosis (ASLS). Note: Enrollment was complete July 2014. National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) funding ended 2/28/17. We continue to follow enrolled subjects while we seek additional funding to follow all subjects through 8 years.
NCT04047732
This study is an intra-patient comparison of KB105 and placebo-administered Target Areas. The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate safety and Investigator Global Assessment (IGA) scale improvement of topically administered KB105.
NCT04575532
In this study we will be monitoring for patient events (emergency department admission, hospital admission, admission to an observation unit, or death) and evaluating the feasibility and utility of using pinpointIQ in the management of patients with COVID-19. Vital sign (physiology data) is collected to build a Covid Decompensation Index and contribute data to a Covid Digital Hub supported by the National Institutes of Health.
NCT03670043
The overall goal is to explore the hypothesis that prebiotic fiber Psyllium will ameliorate diarrhea in African American men (AAM) with Type2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2D).
NCT00424242
RATIONALE: Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Studying samples of cerebrospinal fluid and blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn how pemetrexed disodium works in the body and identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects and how well pemetrexed disodium works in treating patients with leptomeningeal metastases.
NCT01784796
The purpose of this study is to determine how a stress reduction program, called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), compared to a health education program, improves well being and reduces the risk of heart disease in women Veterans. Recruitment completed.
NCT00764491
The purpose of this study was to collect data to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the OptiMesh 1500S to contain and reinforce bone graft materials in patients with Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) whose condition requires an interbody spinal fusion procedure combined with posterior fixation.
NCT04152629
This study is a four-month, phase IV, open-label study of ADHD symptomatology and functional outcomes in pediatric (6 to 17 years old) and adult (≥18 years or older) patients with ADHD treated with FOQUEST or VYVANSE.
NCT01346969
The study will investigate the efficacy of various doses and regimens of EXC 001 in reducing skin scarring in subjects undergoing revision of scars from prior surgery. The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of EXC 001 and placebo.
NCT03758885
The primary objective of this study is to confirm the efficacy of a single oral 900 mg dose of nolasiban versus placebo to increase the ongoing clinical pregnancy rate at 10 weeks post-embryo transfer (ET) day.
NCT03297398
This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of different doses of OPK-88004 compared to placebo on serum PSA compared to placebo in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
NCT02423343
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the study drug known as galunisertib in combination with nivolumab in participants with advanced refractory solid tumors and in recurrent or refractory non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
NCT04859777
This is a Phase 1/1b open-label, dose-escalation, and cohort expansion study with BID (tablet) oral dose of MPT-0118 in subjects with advanced or metastatic refractory solid tumors. The study will be conducted in 3 parts: * Part A: MPT-0118 dose-escalation * Part B: MPT-0118 dose-escalation in combination with pembrolizumab * Part C: Cohort expansion of MPT-0118 in combination with pembrolizumab
