NCT03793894
Lung cancer suffers from large racial and socioeconomic disparities. Yet those at the highest risk of lung cancer death - current smokers, blacks, and individuals with low socioeconomic status (SES) and negative social determinants of health (SDH) - are less likely to receive preventive health services, including the two most effective interventions to reduce lung cancer mortality: tobacco dependence treatment and lung cancer screening (LCS) with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT). At Boston Medical Center (BMC) these preventive services are grossly underutilized, in part due to barriers our patients face in accessing these outpatient programs. Innovative approaches are needed to guide high-risk smokers to post-discharge early lung cancer detection services. The overarching goal of this study is to reduce disparities in lung cancer morbidity and mortality by using hospitalization at an urban safety net hospital as an opportunity to connect high-risk smokers to both LDCT lung cancer screening and tobacco dependence treatment. In addition to inpatient shared decision making \[SDM\] by an NP using a decision aid, screen-eligible smokers will also be connected with a community health worker (CHW) to facilitate access to outpatient smoking cessation counseling and LCS (CHW navigation).
NCT01895777
The main objectives of this large phase IIb/III paediatric study are to assess the efficacy and safety of dabigatran etexilate relative to standard of care and to document the appropriateness of the proposed dabigatran etexilate dosing algorithm for use in patients from birth to less than 18 years of age.
NCT00891865
The purpose of this study is to determine whether respiratory viral infections increase the risk of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), obliterative bronchiolitis (OB), death, or retransplantation in children who have received lung transplants.
NCT02387125
This is a Phase 1b, open label, multi-center study of CMB305 (sequentially administered LV305 \[a dendritic cell-targeting viral vector expressing the NY-ESO-1 gene\] and G305 \[NY-ESO-1 recombinant protein plus GLA-SE\]) in patients with melanoma, sarcoma, ovarian cancer, or non-small cell lung cancer that express NY-ESO-1.
NCT00529035
The purpose of this research study is to determine the safety of IL-2 and the highest dose of this drug that can be given safely to people with chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD). Chronic GVHD is a medical condition that may occur after patients receive a bone marrow, stem cell or cord blood transplant. The donor's immune system may recognize their body (the host) as foreign and attempt to "reject" it. Traditional standard therapy to treat chronic GVHD is prednisone (steroids). Treatment options are limited, and it is thought that IL-2 may help to control chronic GVHD.
NCT01047839
The primary objective is to assess the safety profile of IC51 in a pediatric population from regions where JEV is not endemic
NCT01928537
This study will examine the effect intravenously administered rigosertib has on the relationship between bone marrow blasts response and overall survival in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) patients who have 5-30% bone marrow blasts and who progressed on or after treatment with azacitidine or decitabine.
NCT02138838
The primary objective was to evaluate the efficacy of cinacalcet for reducing the plasma intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) level by ≥ 30%.
NCT02224287
This is a prospective randomized trial to study the effect of assigning the control of the fluoroscopic x-ray activation to the surgeon as compared to the radiation technologist. Radiation exposure will be assessed from the collected data, fluoroscopy time, and dose parameters (cumulative absorbed dose and dose area product). From exposure data, entrance skin dose (ESD) and midline absorbed dose (MLD) will be calculated. The primary outcome in this study will be total fluoroscopy time for the procedure. A secondary outcome will be the ESD. The investigators will further analyze the contribution of clinical predictors (e.g. stone size/location) and procedural predictors on fluoroscopy times and ESD. It is hypothesized that a 30% reduction in fluoroscopy time will occur when the operating surgeon is controlling the activation of the x-ray beam.
NCT04446455
The goal of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of multifaceted rehabilitation program in Veterans 65 years and older. This study will also examine the neuromuscular and cognitive attributes that contribute to clinically meaningful improvements in mobility; and determine whether a novel mode of cognitive training can enhance cognition among mobility limited primary care Veterans 65 years and older.
NCT02205307
This is a randomized, controlled, parallel, multicenter study to determine the difference in post-operative anastomotic leak rate in low anterior resection procedures where colon and rectal tissue perfusion is evaluated using PINPOINT as an adjunct to standard surgical practice compared to surgical procedures performed according to standard surgical practice alone.
NCT02548442
Development and Clinical Evaluation of the Stemina Metabolic Biomarker-Based Test to Diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder in Early Childhood.
NCT04086407
This study evaluates the correlation of the position of the head during sleep, independent of the position of the torso, and the severity of apnea hypopneas in obstructive sleep apnea.
NCT00277810
The purpose of the study is to determine the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of 3 doses of lecozotan in combination with a cholinesterase inhibitor in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD).
NCT04445506
The investigators reviewed the charts of SARS-CoV-2 patients with pneumonia and moderate to severely elevated CRP and worsening hypoxemia who were treated with early, short-term dexamethasone.
NCT02654054
This study seeks to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of elagolix alone and in combination with estradiol/norethindrone acetate for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids in premenopausal women.
NCT02812875
CA-170 is a rationally designed and orally available, small molecule that directly targets the Programmed death-ligands 1 and 2 (PD-L1/PD-L2), and V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation (VISTA) immune checkpoints and results in activation of T cell proliferation and cytokine production. This is a multi-center, open-label, Phase 1 trial of orally administered CA-170 in adult patients with advanced solid tumors or lymphomas who have progressed or are non-responsive to available therapies and for which no standard therapy exists.
NCT01290367
The purpose of this study is to compare two doses of immunoselected, culture-expanded, nucleated, allogeneic adult MPCs when combined with hyaluronic acid to two control intradiscal injections in subjects with chronic low back pain due to moderate Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) at one lumbar level from L1 to S1. All investigational subjects in this study will undergo injection of either 6 million (M) or 18M cells in a hyaluronic acid carrier into the degenerated lumbar disc's nucleus pulposus. All control subjects will undergo an intradiscal control injection with either saline or hyaluronic acid only
NCT02443883
The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of administering various dose regimens of ramucirumab in participants with advanced gastric cancer whose disease has progressed during or following prior chemotherapy.
NCT03449875
Patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) suitable for endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) with Treovance were eligible to participate. Main inclusion criteria were: age 18-85 years; infrarenal AAA without significant infrarenal or distal iliac landing neck calcification or thrombus formation; infrarenal or distal iliac landing neck size requirements specified in the instructions for use. Main exclusion criteria: dissection/ruptured aneurysm or prior AAA endovascular or surgical repair. The primary endpoints were standard EVAR criteria.
