NCT04247061
The goal of this usability study is to pilot test the recruitment procedures, data acquisition methods, and text message program integration required to support the planning of a future clinical trial. Approximately 15 smokers who are patients of the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) patient treatment center and have an upcoming dental prophylaxis or scaling and root planing (henceforth referred to as 'teeth cleaning') appointment will be recruited. During the dental cleaning, participants will watch a brief educational video that provides guidance and advice on smoking cessation. At the end of the dental appointment, participants will complete a survey about their experience watching the video and their attitudes towards smoking cessation. Participants will also receive other smoking cessation resources with instructions on how to access the services. Participants will then use the one-month text message program developed by the investigators to motivate and facilitate contact with the smoking cessation resources. At the end of the one-month text message program, participants will complete a survey about their experience during the text message program, their smoking habits, and attitudes towards smoking cessation. The duration of the study will be approximately six-weeks.
NCT03580603
The goal of this study is to assess the utility of a data visualization tool for providers' understanding patients' past microbiological culture sensitivities. Providers that are ordering antibiotics for patients with previous culture data in the medical record will be asked to answer questions regarding past sensitivity results. They will be randomized to either using the visualization tool before answering the questions or using the standard medical record tools. They will then be surveyed about their decision-making, knowledge, and the usefulness of the tool.
NCT04046211
Hydrogen gas may decrease the degree or incidence of brain injury following ischemia. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and tolerability of inhaled hydrogen gas at the dose exposures required for a clinical efficacy study in healthy adult participants. Participants will breathe a gas mixture that contains a low concentration of hydrogen gas in air through a high flow nasal cannula. Investigators will test for any changes in breathing and neurologic status, as well as lab tests during and following the exposure period.
NCT04579328
Randomized control trial testing whether exposure to a wall hanging (growth mat) enabling parents to physically compare their children's height against the World Health Organization (WHO) standards for height-for-age in combination with normal messaging on stunting increases parents' understanding and retention of those messages. Both intervention and control groups will receive messages about stunting over a 3-month period, but the intervention group will also be exposed to the growth mats during the 3-month intervention period. Parents in both groups will be tested post intervention on the messages about stunting and scores will be compared.
NCT03473132
Prospective assessment of vitamin K dependent coagulation factor levels after temporary warfarin reversal in participants with left ventricular assist devices (LAVD).
NCT03061097
This study, a Randomized controlled trial of Autologous microbiome reconstitution to prevent Colonization by antibiotic rEsistant bacteria (RACE), seeks to investigate the safety, feasibility and the role of autologous fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for the prevention of antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB) through microbiome restoration.
NCT02684487
Sepsis is a clinical entity that complicates infection. Without early recognition and timely management, it can rapidly progress to severe sepsis, septic shock, and culminate in multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Forty to 70% of septic patients have low vitamin D status, yet little is known about the impact of vitamin D3 (vitD3) supplementation in this patient population. As such, the investigators propose a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial to test the hypothesis that early, rapid correction of low vitamin D status, as an adjunct to established treatment guidelines, will improve clinical outcomes and measurably alter immune profile in patients with severe sepsis.
NCT02705378
Naloxegol has recently been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to treat opioid induced constipation in non-cancer chronic pain patients. Its effectiveness in acute care patients, however, is not known. Therefore, the researchers' goal is to investigate whether naloxegol is superior to osmotic laxatives for refractory constipation in ICU patients already receiving prophylactic stool softeners and simulant laxatives through a double-blind, randomized control trial.
NCT00809783
Safety extension study of Phase 3 Osteoarthritis trials with Tanezumab
NCT02510794
This is a Phase II multicenter, dose-ranging, randomized, active treatment (monthly ITV injection)-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of ranibizumab delivered through the Implant using three ranibizumab formulation arms (10 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL, and 100 mg/mL) compared with the control arm (0.5-mg monthly ITV injections of 10-mg/mL formulation) in participants with subfoveal neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
NCT01754064
SCORE is an active, prospective, non-randomized, multi-center outcome-oriented registry of patients implanted with St Jude Medical (SJM) market-released cardiac rhythm management (CRM) products. This registry will be conducted in the United States (US). The primary purpose of the registry is to evaluate and publish acute and long-term performance of market-released SJM CRM products by analyzing product survival probabilities. Product status and any related adverse events will be collected to measure survival probabilities.
NCT01473524

NCT01410630
A research study of a new method of visualizing internal organs called 18F-FLT PET/CT that yields better tracking of cancer treatment progress. PET/CT stands for positron emission tomography with low dose computed tomography and has been used for many years. 18F-FLT PET/CT uses a new tracer, fluorothymidine, which is taken up by cells that are actively proliferating or dividing such as cancer cells. We hope to learn whether this tracer is superior to the conventional tracer for monitoring treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
NCT03961776
feasibility of using a diffusion sequence of a MRgRT system as an early marker of treatment response during nRCT of rectal adenocarcinoma.
