NCT02454972
Multicenter, open-label, exploratory, phase II clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PM01183 in previously treated patients with advanced solid tumors
NCT02997657
Positive Psychotherapy for Smoking Cessation (PPT-S) addresses an array of risk factors for poor smoking outcomes (low positive affect, depressive symptoms, and cynical cognitions), while also providing skills that may buffer against stress and negative affect. The overall objective of this project is to conduct a randomized controlled trial to test the efficacy of PPT-S, enhanced with text messaging, compared to a time-matched behavioral smoking cessation treatment. Participants in both treatment conditions will receive nicotine replacement therapy and a validated text-messaging intervention for smoking cessation that monitors progress in quitting smoking and extends smoking counseling outside of the individual face-to-face context.
NCT01590680
Protocol JDI2007-01 is an Expanded Access Protocol with therapeutic 131I-MIBG for patients with neuroblastoma or pheochromocytoma / paraganglioma, who otherwise do not qualify for available treatments, or where approved treatment is not commercially available.
NCT01420926
This randomized phase II trial studies how well giving decitabine with or without bortezomib works in treating older patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as decitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells,by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether decitabine works better when given with or without bortezomib in treating acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT03534102
This project intends to investigate whether (1) a patient-maintained opioid diary provides an accurate measure of opioid consumption (morphine equivalents), (2) improved patient educational materials decrease narcotic consumption, and (3) using a pain management counselor provides additional benefits in decreasing narcotic consumption when used in conjunction with improved educational materials. Furthermore, the investigators would like to investigate the effect of the patient-maintained diaries, the improved educational materials, and the pain management counselor on pain levels, nausea, sleep quality, and patient satisfaction. All patients undergoing orthopedic surgery at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital and choose to participate will be assigned to a treatment group based on which arm of the study is being tested at the time; (the treatment arms are sequential). Members of Group 1 (control group) will receive the current standardized institutional discharge care for orthopedic surgery and an added tracking diary. Members of Group 2 (experimental group 1) will receive more detailed educational materials regarding postoperative pain management - including instructions to how to taper their narcotic usage - as well as a tracking diary. Members of Group 3 (experimental group 2) will receive not only the educational materials of Group 2, but also weekly phone calls from a clinical patient educator to remind them of proper use of the diary and narcotic tapering.
NCT01430442
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of rimegepant (BMS-927711) compared with placebo in the acute treatment of migraine as measured by Pain Freedom (headache pain intensity level reported as "no pain") at 2 hours post dose using a four point numeric rating scale (no pain, mild pain, moderate pain, severe pain) while identifying an optimal dose to support the Phase 3 clinical trials.
NCT05036187
Obesity disproportionately impacts sexual minority women. Behavioral weight loss programs are the gold standard treatment for mild to moderate obesity. The investigators have developed an online behavioral weight loss program that is effective, low-cost, and highly scalable. However, existing research suggests that tailoring treatment to address 3 well-established weight loss barriers in sexual minority women will be critical for maximizing the relevance and efficacy of behavioral weight loss for this group. The goal of the first phase of this K23 is to develop 3 novel treatment components targeting sexual minority women's weight loss barriers (i.e., minority stress, low social support, and negative body image), to pilot the program in sexual minority women with overweight/obesity, and to conduct individual qualitative interviews to elicit feedback on the intervention's acceptability, cultural relevance, usability, and feasibility that will be used to refine the program. After a pre-piloting phase (consisting of initial content piloting, interviews, and intervention refinement; anticipated n=12), 8 participants will pilot the full 3-month weight loss program and will be randomized to pilot 0-3 novel tailored components (targeting minority stress, negative body image, and social support) over the 3-month period. Participants will complete quantitative and qualitative assessments of intervention acceptability and appropriateness post-treatment and the intervention will be refined.
NCT03990363
The purpose of this clinical research study is to establish the dose of verinurad combined with allopurinol 300 mg once daily that will elicit the desired response; ie, reduction in urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR) at 6 months.
NCT04748848
