NCT00666588
This phase II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bortezomib and to see how well it works when given together with combination chemotherapy in treating younger patients with recurrent, refractory, or secondary acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as idarubicin, cytarabine, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) together with bortezomib may kill more cancer cells
NCT02157103
STUDY BACKGROUND: This research will involve patients with glioblastoma. The drug bevacizumab (Avastin) is FDA approved for the treatment of glioblastoma that gets worse after standard therapy. For glioblastoma, bevacizumab is given by vein every 14 days. The purpose of this study is to see if bevacizumab works as well when it is given as a daily subcutaneous shot as it does when given intravenously. A subcutaneous shot is like an insulin shot or a heparin shot. The dose of bevacizumab given on this study is in total slightly lower than the FDA approved dose for glioblastoma. STUDY DESCRIPTION: About 10 people will take part in the study. Participants or caregivers will be educated on injection and given prefilled syringes to take home. Participants or caregivers will administer bevacizumab subcutaneously each day. The bevacizumab will be stored in the refrigerator. Follow up visits will be weekly for the first 3 weeks, then every 3 weeks. After 18 weeks, the follow up interval can be increased to every 6 weeks at the treating physician's discretion. Participants can keep taking the bevacizumab until: * Tests show that they are not benefiting from it, * The participant has a bad side effect related to study treatment, * The participant can no longer comply with study requirements, or * The participant or doctor feels it is no longer in the participant's best interest.
NCT01252628
The purpose of this Phase 1/2 open-label study is to determine the safety and efficacy of a cetuximab and PX-866 combination treatment. In the Phase 1 part of the study, the dose of PX-866 to be given in combination with cetuximab will be determined in patients with incurable metastatic CRC or incurable progressive, recurrent or metastatic SCCHN. The Phase 2 part of the study is a randomized evaluation of the antitumor activity and safety of PX-866 in combination with cetuximab versus cetuximab alone in patients with either incurable metastatic CRC who have a history of progression or recurrence following prior irinotecan and oxaliplatin containing regimens or are intolerant of irinotecan (Group 1) or incurable progressive, recurrent or metastatic SCCHN (Group 2).

Secondary Outcomes: Incidence and frequency of severe hypoglycemia; Measure of glycemic variability, Area Under the Curve (AUC); Quality of Life; and Health Economic Outcomes (MRU)
NCT02585778
Primary Objectives: * To demonstrate the superiority of alirocumab in comparison with placebo in the reduction of calculated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in participants with diabetes treated with insulin and with hypercholesterolemia at high cardiovascular risk not adequately controlled on maximally tolerated LDL-C lowering therapy. * To evaluate the safety and tolerability of alirocumab in participants with diabetes treated with insulin. Secondary Objective: To demonstrate that alirocumab was superior in comparison to placebo in its effects on other lipid parameters (i.e., measured LDL-C, non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol \[non-HDL-C\], apolipoprotein B \[Apo B\], total cholesterol \[TC\], lipoprotein a \[Lp(a)\], high density lipoprotein cholesterol \[HDL-C\], triglyceride \[TG\] levels, triglyceride rich lipoproteins \[TGRL\], apolipoprotein A-1 \[Apo A-1\], apolipoprotein C-III \[Apo C-III\], and LDL particle number and size).
NCT01522443
Bone metastases and associated pain are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). Most approved therapies have shown some ability to reduce soft tissue lesions but none meaningfully impacts bone metastases (as demonstrated by lack of resolution of lesions on bone scan with these agents) or the pain associated with these metastases. This study will evaluate the effect of cabozantinib versus mitoxantrone plus prednisone on pain response and bone scan response in men with CRPC.
NCT02745054
The goal of SOAR is to characterize the clinical and economic impact of clinicians' responses to major bleeding complications and pre-procedural concerns for bleeding risk in patients treated with oral anticoagulants (warfarin, anti-Xa orals, and anti-thrombin (IIa) orals) who present to the ED or in the hospital with acute illness or injury, with the eventual aim of informing the development of improved approaches to the management of OACs in the ED.
NCT02855346
PK and Safety Study of Vaginal Ring Containing Dapivirine and Levonorgestrel
NCT02417961
The purpose of the study is to assess functionality, performance, and reliability of an accessorized pre-filled syringe (APFS) with benralizumab administered subcutaneously (SC) in an at-home setting reported by the patient or caregiver, and to confirm the safety and clinical benefit of benralizumab administration in asthma patients with severe asthma.
NCT00735475
The purpose of this study is to determine the immunogenicity and safety profile of CSL Limited's Influenza Virus Vaccine compared to a US Licensed Comparator Influenza Virus Vaccine.
NCT01616199
The purpose of the phase 1 portion of the study is to determine the maximally tolerated dose (MTD) or recommended dose (RD) and the safety/tolerability of PX-866 in combination vemurafenib in patients with any advanced BRAF-mutant cancer. The purpose of the phase 2 portion of the study is to compare progression free survival (PFS), antitumor activity (response rate), disease control rate (DCR), and the safety and tolerability of PX-866 in combination with vemurafenib vs. vemurafenib alone in patients with advanced BRAF-mutant melanoma at the doses recommended from Phase 1.
NCT03307122
Prospective, double-blind, randomized study of 2 infant formulas.
NCT02098967
This open label, Phase I study of RO6839921 is a dose-escalation study with two arms. Prior to investigations in either arm, patients in a single cohort, Cohort 0, will receive non-escalating, intravenous (IV) doses of RO6839921 daily on Days 1-5 of a 28-day cycle. Interim PK and safety data from this cohort will be evaluated before initiating dose-escalation. In arm A, RO6839921 will be given to patients with advanced solid tumor malignancies. In Arm B, RO6839921 will be given to patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The arms will escalate independently. Escalation will begin in solid tumor patients (Arm A) in single patient cohorts, using a new Continual Reassessment Method (n-CRM). Escalation for AML patients will be initiated at or below the dose level that causes \>/= Grade 2 hematologic side effects in Arm A. Escalation in AML patients will follow a rolling 6 design. In both arms, RO6839921 will be administered by IV infusion on Days 1-5 of 28-day cycles. There will be no intrapatient dose escalation. All patients may be treated until disease progression/relapse or unacceptable toxicity.

NCT01866592
VIP-E is a one-arm, open-label, 40-52 week extension study to continue or cross over subjects of the VIP study (# 814278) to active drug (adalimumab) to determine if there is sustained improvement in vascular inflammation, lipid metabolism, and inflammatory markers. VIP-E extends VIP study procedures for 40-52 weeks including questionnaires, physical exams, blood and urine samples, lab tests, one additional FDG-PET/CT scan, and adalimumab injections following FDA-approved psoriasis treatment regimen.
NCT01553058
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of adalimumab (Humira), when compared to NB-UVB (narrow-band ultraviolet B) phototherapy or placebo (an inactive substance that may resemble an active substance but has no medical value) injection. The study will compare the effects of each on systemic inflammation and cardiovascular disease risk factors in subjects diagnosed with moderate to severe psoriasis. This study will look for systemic vascular inflammation in subjects with a test called FDG-PET/CT (Fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography). The study will also look for cardio metabolic (heart disease and metabolic factors such as diabetes) identifiers in the blood. A blood sample will be taken that will look for these markers identifying high cholesterol, cholesterol efflux function (the ability of cholesterol to move in the body), metabolic factors, and inflammation. This study will also assess the effect of adalimumab (Humira), when compared to NB-UVB phototherapy or placebo injection on psoriasis activity and severity. The study will also compare the safety of adalimumab (Humira) to NB-UVB phototherapy or placebo injection. This study will also evaluate subjects' reported outcomes through a questionnaire that will assess quality-of-life in subjects living with psoriasis.
