NCT01725815
Individuals with serious mental illnesses (SMI) face high rates of medical comorbidity as well as challenges in managing these conditions. A growing workforce of certified peer specialists is available to help these individuals more effectively manage their health and health care. However, there is little existing research examining the effectiveness of peer-led medical self-management programs for this population. in this trial, participants were randomized to either the Health and Recovery Peer program (HARP), a medical disease self-management program led by certified peer specialists, or to care as usual. Assessments were conducted at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months.
NCT01262001

NCT01602224
The purpose of this study is to evaluate an investigational drug called tabalumab in participants with Multiple Myeloma (MM) who have tried at least one other therapy in the past. Tabalumab will be given in combination with standard doses of two other drugs that are often used to treat MM. Study doctors will collect information about the effectiveness and side effects of this therapy.
NCT03237091
Research indicates that increasing brain excitability might help improve hand function in people with spinal cord injury. Brain stimulation that uses electrodes placed on the surface of the scalp (also called "non-invasive brain stimulation") increases brain excitability and has the potential to make it easier for the brain and nervous system to respond to arm and hand training. The purpose of this study is to compare four different types of stimulation for increasing brain excitability to determine which types are best for helping people with tetraplegia improve their ability to use their arms and hands. To fully evaluate the value of brain stimulation on arm and hand function, the investigators will also evaluate the effect of sham (fake) stimulation. Each participant will receive a single session of each of the five types of stimulation being tested.
NCT01127633
This study is an open-label extension study in Alzheimer's patients who have completed participation in either solanezumab Clinical Trial H8A-MC-LZAM (NCT00905372) or H8A-MC-LZAN (NCT00904683).
NCT00690469
This laboratory study is looking at genetic mutations and environmental exposure in young patients with retinoblastoma and in their parents and young healthy unrelated volunteers. Gathering information about gene mutations and environmental exposure may help doctors learn more about the causes of retinoblastoma in young patients.
NCT03433677
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the compatibility and safety of LY900014 and insulin lispro with an external continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion system in adult participants with type 1 diabetes.
NCT02604810
This study was designed to determine a dose of weekly subcutaneously administered Immune Globulin Subcutaneous (Human), 20% Caprylate/Chromatography Purified (Grifols) (IGSC 20%) that produces steady-state AUC of total IgG that was non-inferior to that of the regularly administered intravenous dose of Immune Globulin Injection (Human), 10% Caprylate/Chromatography Purified (Grifols) (IGIV-C 10%) in primary immunodeficiency subjects. This study was also designed to determine steady state trough total IgG levels after IGSC 20% infusion and after IGIV-C 10% infusion for comparison and to assess the safety and tolerability of IGSC 20%.
NCT03120520
This is a study of efficacy and safety of Plecanatide in pediatric subjects aged 12 to \< 18 years diagnosed with Chronic Idiopathic Constipation.
NCT02227784
The purpose of the ACCENTUATE study is to evaluate whether the study drug known as evacetrapib is effective in treating participants with high cholesterol and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and/or diabetes.
NCT00301821
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as epratuzumab and rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving monoclonal antibody therapy together with chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells.\> PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving monoclonal antibody therapy together with combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with stage II, stage III, or stage IV diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
NCT03285295
The objective of this study is to demonstrate the performance and intended use of each of the Alinity s investigational assays in a donor screening environment using clinical specimens to evaluate assay performance characteristics. A comparison of assay performance will be done versus the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensed assays. The data will be used to support regulatory submissions and/or publications.
NCT01390220
The purpose of this study is to examine the safety and effectiveness of USL261 for the outpatient treatment of seizure clusters.
NCT02354352
The study is to demonstrate non-inferiority of spironolactone vs. eplerenone in preserving cardiac and pulmonary function in patients with preserved LV ejection fraction. Males with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) confirmed clinically and by mutation analysis will be enrolled. Subjects will be randomized to either eplerenone or spironolactone. Subjects will use a drug diary to record daily compliance of taking the study medication as well as any concerns they may have during the study period. Subjects will undergo cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and pulmonary function tests (PFT) at baseline and then again at 12 months post enrollment. Subjects will also complete a quality of life questionnaire at baseline and 12 months. Degree of elbow contracture will be measured using a goniometer at baseline and 12 months.
NCT00003612
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. Monoclonal antibodies such as trastuzumab can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining paclitaxel, carboplatin, and trastuzumab in treating women who have metastatic breast cancer that overexpresses HER2.
NCT03094780
This study will use video technology in conjunction with in-person participation. This is a pilot project, where all enrolled participants will receive the multidisciplinary intervention. Participants (patients and caregivers) from Mayo Clinic Rochester will attend an in-person group session, and participants (patients and caregivers) from Mayo Clinic Florida or Northfield Mayo Clinic Radiation Oncology Center will participate through the use of video conferencing. The goals are to examine feasibility (percent of eligible patients and caregivers who enroll), attrition, and adherence (attend at least four of the six sessions), to determine any differences between the two formats, and to examine potential QOL differences as a result of the intervention.
NCT00596011
The purpose of this study was to determine whether the daily consumption of decaffeinated green tea catechins (Polyphenon E®) for 1 year reduces the rate of progression to prostate cancer (PCa) in men diagnosed with HGPIN or ASAP. The aim was to recruit and treat 240 (120 men/arm) men diagnosed with the prostate condition HGPIN or ASAP with a capsule form of standardized green tea extract called Polyphenon E or placebo for a 12-month period and see if it can prevent progression of the prostate condition to prostate cancer. Investigators wanted to see if Polyphenon E reduces lower urinary tract symptoms and if this can be taken safely over one year. Investigators wanted to study how Polyphenon E is able to slow the progression to prostate cancer, or the mechanism of action of Polyphenon E. If the safety and the effects of Polyphenon E on slowing down the progression of prostate cancer is shown in our study, this will be a safe way of treating men who are at high risk or men like you who have a prostate condition that increases your chances of getting prostate cancer, so that we can prevent prostate cancer in the future.
