NCT05155605
This is a prospective, multi-center interventional study of the GRAIL multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test with return of test results for participants enrolled through healthcare systems in North America. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and performance of the GRAIL MCED test in a population of individuals who are eligible for guideline-recommended cancer screening. In cases with a "cancer signal detected" test result, participants will undergo diagnostic procedures based on the test returned cancer signal origin(s) to determine if they have cancer. The number and types of diagnostic procedures required to achieve diagnostic resolution will be assessed. Participant-reported outcomes will be collected at several time points to assess participants' perceptions about the multi-cancer early detection test. The study will enroll approximately 35,000 and no more than 38,500 participants as defined by eligibility criteria over an anticipated enrollment period of approximately 36 months at up to 40 clinical institutions within North America. Participants will be actively followed for approximately 3 years from the date of their enrollment.

NCT03524183
The VFB Ecosystem capitalizes on digital technologies' ability to connect parents and children, allowing parents to actively support their child's physical activity, even when parents cannot be present. The VFB is a kiosk-based system that houses a virtual dog programmed to allow children to set self-determined physical activity goals. The children wear Fitbits while performing physical activity. Using the unique data embedded in the Fitbit, the kiosk is able to detect each individual child and automatically connect him or her to a unique, personalized virtual dog. Physical activity data is transmitted automatically from the Fitbit to the kiosk when the child approaches, and the virtual dog provides accurate evaluations of whether the child met the self-determined physical activity goal, offering words of encouragement and physical activity support. The virtual pet functions as a personalized fitness buddy to encourage children to set and meet physical activity goals, promote physical activity self-efficacy, and foster mutually supportive relationships among children, parents, and the virtual pet. This will be particularly helpful for children who receive insufficient amounts of social support in their current environment. Concurrently, the kiosk sends a text message to parents on the child's physical activity progress. Parents are then able to send words of encouragement and communicate with their children via the kiosk, using the text messaging feature of their mobile phones. Thus, even when the parent is not with the child, the virtual pet is designed to serve as a coordinating focus for facilitating parent-child communication. Parents will also receive text messages from the kiosk with a security code to access a website that provides detailed records of the child's physical activity over time.
NCT01197378
Cystinosis is an inherited disease that if untreated, results in kidney failure as early as the first decade of life. The current marketed therapy is Cystagon® (cysteamine bitartrate immediate release) which must be taken every six hours for the rest of the patient's life to prevent complications of cystinosis. Cysteamine bitartrate delayed-release capsules (RP103) is a formulation of cysteamine bitartrate that is being studied to see if it can be given less frequently, once every 12 hours, and have similar results to four times a day Cystagon®.

NCT00739648
Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) suffer from frequent and recurrent acute exacerbations (AECB) which are associated with enormous healthcare expenditures and significant morbidity, specifically an increased risk of death, a decline in pulmonary function and a significant change in quality of life. Bacteria appear to have an important role in acute exacerbations in chronic bronchitis and COPD. Studies of acute exacerbations in COPD have shown a reduction in bacterial load with prolonged exacerbation-free interval. In addition, recent studies indicate that acquisition of a new strain of H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, S. pneumoniae or P. aeruginosa are responsible for many of these exacerbations. Chronic inflammation and bacterial infection predispose many patients to frequent and recurrent acute exacerbations. Mpex believes that intermittent administration of inhaled MP-376 in high risk patients will decrease the incidence of acute exacerbations by both by lowering the organism burden, and resultant inflammation, as well as pre-emptive eradication of any newly acquired bacterial strains.
NCT04506866

NCT00046059
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most common behavioral disorder in childhood, affecting 3-5% of children between the ages of 7 and 17. Family studies suggest that there is a genetic component to ADHD. Scientists believe that it is a complex disorder in which two or more genes may be involved. Potentially eligible families will be asked to give written consent to participate and will be asked to complete questionnaires for each member in the family. In addition, an interview will be administered to the parent of minors enrolled in the study to determine their eligibility for being in the study. This screening tool is computerized and will take approximately 45 minutes to administer per child. Once screenings are completed, a blood collection kit will be sent to the family to take to their local medical care provider, have blood samples drawn and sent to NIH. There is no cost to the family to participate. We would like to enroll entire families, with both parents and all children.
