This randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increase progression-free survival in patients with previously treated cancer.

This randomized phase III trial is studying glutathione to see how well it works in preventing peripheral neuropathy caused by paclitaxel and carboplatin in patients with ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, and/or primary peritoneal cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Chemoprotective drugs, such as glutathione, may help prevent peripheral neuropathy caused by paclitaxel and carboplatin. It is not yet known whether glutathione is more effective than a placebo in preventing peripheral neuropathy.

The purpose of this study is to better understand why women choose to have their fallopian tubes removed as a method for ovarian cancer prevention. This will be done through a paper questionnaire and phone interviews. The investigators hope to gain information that will allow us to better counsel women about ovarian cancer prevention.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation directly into the abdomen may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of intraperitoneal paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation in treating patients with advanced cancer of the peritoneal cavity.

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of an investigational therapeutic agent (Cvac) in ovarian cancer patients in first or second remission and to determine its ability to prevent cancer from returning. Study objectives Primary objectives: * To confirm the safety of administering Cvac in this population. * To determine the effects of Cvac on progression-free survival (PFS). Secondary objectives: * To determine overall survival (OS) for ovarian cancer patients who receive Cvac after achieving remission in the first or second-line setting. * Evaluation of host immunologic response to Cvac administration.

This pilot clinical trial studies the Taking Care of Her program in patients with stage III or IV ovarian cancer and spouse caregivers. This counseling program may equip the spouse caregiver with skills to support and nurture the patient through initial diagnosis and treatment. It may also help patients and spouse caregivers improve communication and coping skills.

As \< 10% of the necessary patients required by the protocol were recruited and the data were not intended to support a labeling claim, it was determined that the abbreviated clinical study report (CSR) was the appropriate reporting format. No efficacy analyses were performed as the trial was terminated early with incomplete enrollment of \< 10%. The purpose of this study is to determine if an investigational cell therapy called Cvac can help epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) from returning when administered to patients who are in complete remission after surgical removal of their tumor followed by standard first-line (Part A) or second-line (Part B) chemotherapy. Following remission, patients will undergo leukapheresis for the manufacture of the study agent. After completion of chemotherapy and confirmation of remission, patients will enter the treatment phase of the study.

This study will evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of the combination of Gleevec and Gemzar in patients with ovarian cancer, who have progressed after receiving at least one prior chemotherapy treatment. Gleevec is an oral chemotherapy drug used is this study and Gemzar is an IV chemotherapy drug used. Participation in the treatment portion of the study will continue as long as the patient's tumors shrink or remain stable and as long as the patient is able to tolerate the study drug. The follow-up portion of the study will last for 5 years.
