In a previous phase II study, patients with pathological stage IIIb (without pleural effusion) NSCLC were treated with concurrent cisplatin and etoposide plus thoracic radiotherapy followed by 3 cycles of consolidation therapy with docetaxel. Docetaxel was selected based upon a survival benefit in patients with recurrent NSCLC. This trial will evaluate the role of consolidation therapy with docetaxel in patients with unresectable stage III disease. The purpose of the trial is to evaluate survival and toxicities of the regimens employed.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the cancer vaccine tecemotide (L-BLP25) in addition to best supportive care is effective in prolonging the lives of subjects with unresectable stage III non-small cell lung cancer, compared to best supportive care alone. A local ancillary (sub) study in European centers will evaluate the immune response in peripheral blood after tecemotide (L-BLP25) or placebo vaccination.

The purpose of this is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of imetelstat (GRN163L) as maintenance therapy for patients with advanced stage NSCLC who have not progressed after 4 cycles of platinum based therapy. Participants will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to imetelstat + standard of care versus standard of care alone. Participants who received bevacizumab with their induction chemotherapy will continue to receive bevacizumab on this study.

BKM120 will be investigated in two groups of NSCLC patients according to the histology of the cancer: squamous and non-squamous.

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of low-dose radiation therapy to the abdomen combined with docetaxel in treating patients who have recurrent or persistent advanced ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how OSI-906 compares to Topotecan in trying to slow down the growth and/or progression of the tumors of participants with relapsed or recurrent Small Cell Lung Cancer. This study also plans to find out what effects, good or bad (side effects), OSI-906 has on participants and or Small Cell Lung Cancer. The study will also investigate if some proteins measured in the blood or tumor and some imaging features obtained from computed tomography (CT) scans can help predict whether OSI-906 or topotecan will be effective against Small Cell Lung Cancer.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate bioequivalence of IG-001 versus nab-paclitaxel in female patients with metastatic or locally recurrent breast cancer. In addition, the study will compare the safety and tolerance of IG-001 and nab-paclitaxel during the bioequivalence 2-period crossover portion of the study. The study will also evaluate the long-term safety of IG-001 over repeated cycles, up to 4 additional cycles of administration.

This will be the first multidisciplinary, randomized, longitudinal trial of a tailored, parent- and child-focused physical activity program for children (ages 4- \<19 years) with newly diagnosed ALL. It will test the ability of the intervention to prevent or diminish early physical function limitations and improve health-related quality of life (HRQL). The intervention will be tested for its effect on: 1) physical function outcomes (muscle strength, range of motion, endurance, gross motor skills), bone density and bone mineral content (end of therapy only); and 2) HRQL. This multi-site trial will test the intervention in 76 evaluable children with ALL (38 receiving the intervention and 38 receiving a placebo "minimal movement" standard care strategy).

Few formal mechanisms for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on quality in palliative care exist. Such infrastructure is needed to understand current clinical practices, inform quality improvement projects, and research which links adherence to specific quality measures and improved patient-centered outcomes. This infrastructure, if proven feasible, can then become integrated into usual palliative care delivery across the PCRC. Then, palliative care can conduct the same types of collaborative quality improvement activities, based on data collected at point of care, as other medical disciplines like general surgery and cardiology.

There is no available data on the clinical benefit of dose escalation for patients with suboptimal response to imatinib, and patients may still improve their response with continuation of therapy at the standard dose as shown in the IRIS trial after 5 years of follow-up. However, there is no data yet regarding the potential benefit of using nilotinib in the group of patients with suboptimal response. In this study, the efficacy of nilotinib 400mg BID will be compared to imatinib 600mg QD.
