The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if bevacizumab (Avastin®) can control metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The safety of the treatment will also be studied. Objectives: Primary: 1. To assess the efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy of bevacizumab by evaluating time to progression. 2. Toxicities of therapy with bevacizumab in RCC. Secondary: Clinical: 1. Serum and plasma levels of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and MMP-2, Interleukin 6 (IL-6), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF) pre- and post- therapy (optional studies). 2. Tissue expression of Phospho-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), VEGF, vessel count CD31/34, AKT and Phospho-AKT, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha), phospho-STAT3 and TUNEL post therapy (optional studies). 3. complementary DNA (cDNA) microarray analysis of tissue post-therapy (optional studies). 4. Tissue expression of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and tumor antigens 5. Pathological response rate in primary tumor. 6. This phase II trial studies how well 177Lu-DOTATATE works in treating patients with rare endocrine cancers that have spread from where they started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced), spread to other places in the body (metastatic), or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Radioactive drugs, such as 177Lu-DOTATATE, may carry radiation directly to cancer cells and not harm normal cells. 177Lu-DOTATATE may help to control endocrine cancers compared to standard treatment.

Rabbit antithymocyte globulin (rATG) is approved for the treatment of acute rejection following kidney transplantation and is routinely administered as a series of 5-7 consecutive daily doses via central intravenous catheter.Single large-doses of rATG have been shown to have equivalent safety and efficacy profile compared to the standard daily protocol when used as an induction agent but there are no reported experiences of its use for rejection treatment. Plan to study a single-dose rATG infusion compared to standard rATG administration including correlation to length of hospital stay and hospital costs.

This study to evaluate treatment in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) which has progressed through 2 to 3 prior lines of therapy, with the investigational drug CRLX101 in combination with bevacizumab compared to treatment with a standard of care therapy. The study will compare which treatment resulted in longer time before progression of the RCC. Patients will be treated and followed for progression of their disease on average for up to 6 months.

This is a Phase 1, open-label, multicenter, randomized, 2-stage crossover study consisting of 2 phases: Stage I - Pharmacokinetics (Bioequivalence), with an Extension Stage II - Pharmacokinetics (Food Effect) with an Extension This study will enroll approximately 60 subjects in stage I and 60 subjects in stage II with hematologic or solid tumor malignancies, excluding gastrointestinal tumors and tumors that have originated or metastasized to the liver for which no standard treatment exists or have progressed or recurred following prior therapy. Subjects must not be eligible for therapy of higher curative potential where an alternative treatment has been shown to prolong survival in an analogous population. Approximately 23 sites in the US and 2 in Canada will participate in this study.

The objective of this research project is to investigate specific behaviors and exposures related to sugarcane work and their association with non-communicable diseases, specifically Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin (CKDu) among sugarcane workers in Guatemala. Over the course of the 6-month sugarcane harvest the investigators will assess risk factors for declining kidney function, and also changes in biomarkers of kidney function pre and post work shift of field and factory workers and their possible relationships with dehydration and heat stress. The investigators will also evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention aimed at increasing hydration and reducing heat stress. Finally the investigators will measure biomarkers of exposure and environmental samples for heavy metals, agrochemicals, and infectious disease (Leptospira).
