To evaluate the effect of KW-3902IV, in addition to standard therapy, on the proportion of worsening heart failure and worsening renal function, and on the proportion of deaths or rehospitalizations for heart failure or worsening renal function, and to estimate and compare within-trial medical resource utilization and direct medical costs between subjects treated with KW 3902IV versus placebo.

Survival after invasive coronary revascularization is worse in patients with chronic kidney disease than in those without it. The investigators aimed to examine whether oral administration of nicorandil, a hybrid of nitrate and adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium channel opener, could improve the survival of end-stage renal disease patients with coronary artery disease by inhibiting cardiac death after coronary revascularization.

Demonstrate the ability of muti-detector computed tomography to adequately perform stress testing will result in a veritable "one-stop shop" of non-invasive cardiac imaging that is, the ability to directly visualize heart arteries with high accuracy and to simultaniously determine the hemodynamic significance of any blockages visualized.
