The purpose of this study is to evaluate dexpramipexole as an add-on oral therapy in participants with inadequately controlled eosinophilic asthma to evaluate improvements in lung function, asthma control, and quality of life. In addition, the study will further evaluate the safety and tolerability of dexpramipexole in participants with eosinophilic asthma.

The goal of this interventional study is to compare standard mechanical ventilation to a lung-stress oriented ventilation strategy in patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Participants will be ventilated according to one of two different strategies. The main question the study hopes to answer is whether the personalized ventilation strategy helps improve survival.

Brief Summary of Stage 1: The purpose Stage 1 (Phase I/IIa) is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of a single intramuscular (IM) injection of 3 dose-levels of an Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine candidate formulated with 2 different lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) in healthy adult participants aged between 18 to 50 years, and 60 years and older. The primary objectives of this stage are to assess the safety and immunogenicity profiles across the dose-level groups (low, medium, and high doses) with 2 LNPs. This stage will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a booster vaccination administered 12 months after the primary vaccination in a subset of the study population. Brief Summary of Stage 2: The study also also incorporates a Stage 2 (Phase IIa, dose-ranging design) that includes adults aged 60 years and older to assess the safety and immunogenicity of different doses of RSV vaccine encapsulated in one of the LNPs. In the Phase IIa dose-ranging stage, eligible participants will be randomly assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive a single IM administration of RSV vaccine candidate doses, or placebo. Multiple safety analyses will be performed, minimally at D07 and D28. Additional analyses may be performed as data are available.

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of maternal immunization during the third trimester of pregnancy with the RSV F vaccine against medically-significant RSV lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI), as defined by hypoxemia or tachypnea at rest, through the first 90, 120, 150, and 180 days of life in infants.

The overall goal of the study is to risk stratify pediatric Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) patients and to identify sub-phenotypes with shared biology in order to appropriately target therapies in future trials. This is a prospective, multicenter study of 500 intubated children with ARDS, with planned blood collection within 24 hours of ARDS onset and subsequent measurement of plasma protein biomarkers and peripheral blood gene expression.

This trial studies how well rapid on site evaluation of pleural touch preparations works in diagnosing cancerous fluid in between the linings of the lungs (malignant pleural effusion) in patients undergoing a pleuroscopy. A type of laboratory testing called rapid on site evaluation of pleural touch preparations that uses pleural biopsy tissue samples collected during an already-scheduled pleuroscopy may be able to diagnose malignant pleural effusion.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of a single dose of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine, administered intramuscularly (IM) to pregnant women aged 18-49 years, in good general maternal health, in preventing medically assessed RSV associated Lower Respiratory Tract Illnesses (LRTIs) in infants born to vaccinated mothers. The study also evaluated the safety of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine both in vaccinated mothers and in their corresponding infant. Following a recommendation from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee of NCT04605159 (RSV MAT 009), GSK made the decision to stop enrolment and vaccination in the study. Ongoing study participants at that time continued to be monitored as part of the study.

The purpose of this study is to learn about the safety and immunogenicity of a study vaccine (called RSVpreF) in several adult groups. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common type of virus (germ) that can cause severe illness, where medical help is needed. RSV can lead to airway diseases in all ages. Vaccines help your body make antibodies which help fight against diseases. This is called an immune response. This study will measure how much antibody participants make after receiving RSVpreF (immunogenicity). The study consists of 2 groups (Substudy A and Substudy B). Substudy A is seeking approximately 675 participants who are: * Between 18 and 60 years of age. * Considered having a high likelihood of severe RSV disease due to certain long-term medical conditions. Such medical conditions do not include immunocompromising conditions. Participants will need to come to the study clinic at least 2 times. At the first clinic visit, participants will receive 1 shot of RSVpreF or placebo in the arm by chance. A placebo looks like the study vaccine but contains no active ingredients. At each clinic visit, a blood sample will be taken. A third (final) visit can be either completed in clinic or via telephone contact. This study is about 6 months long for each participant. Substudy B is seeking approximately 200 participants who are: * At least 18 years of age. About half of the participants will be at least 60 years of age. * Considered having a weakened immune system (immunocompromised). Participants will need to come to the study clinic at least 3 times. All participants will receive a shot of RSVpreF at the first study clinic visit. The second study clinic visit will be 1 month later. All participants will receive a second shot of the study vaccine at this second study clinic visit. Blood samples will be taken at the 3 study clinic visits. A fourth (final) visit can be either completed in clinic or via telephone contact. This study is about 7 months long for each participant.

The aim of the study is to assess and compare efficacy and safety of BI 54903 at three different dosages (b.i.d)., fluticasone propionate hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) metered dose inhaler (MDI) at a dose of 440 mcg b.i.d and low dose fluticasone propionate 88 mcg b.i.d. over an 8-week treatment period in asthmatic patients aged 12 to 65 years inadequately controlled medium dose ICS therapy as demonstrated by a decrease in forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) range 10 to 25 % and an asthma control questionnaire-6 (ACQ-6) equal or greater than 1.5 at time of randomisation.

This is a multicenter study to test a decision-making support process for families and clinicians facing decisions about chronic home ventilation for a child. The investigators hypothesize that the intervention will increase family preparedness for decision-making and will improve clinician-family shared-decision making. Half of families will be assigned to "usual care" arm and half to the "intervention" arm. Intervention families will view the study website with study staff and will answer questions related to website content. All families will be interviewed and surveyed at 1, 6 and 12 months after enrollment. Each family will designate 1-2 physician involved in the decision about home ventilation; each physician will be interviewed and surveyed at 1 month.
